Leading the Way in Home Health Care

Visiting Nurse & Health Services of Connecticut (VNHSC) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to home health, hospice and community-based health care. VNHSC is the parent organization of A Caring Hand whose staff provides private care services designed to help the frail elderly, terminally ill and disabled remain in the comfort of their own homes.

In 2009 we made over 130,604 home visits to more than 6,000 patients, our Hospice staff provided over 21,581 days of care.

VNHSC is licensed by the State of Connecticut Department of Public Health and accredited by the Community Health Accreditation Program (CHAP) of the National League for Nursing. VNHSC was named to the 2009 Homecare Elite, a listing of Medicare-certified agencies whose achievements in quality improvement and financial performance are among the top 25% of providers nationwide.

How Does VNHSC Meet Patient Needs?

VNHSC is not only a Medicare certified, CHAP accredited home health and hospice agency we also have a private care subsidiary, A Caring Hand, and a licensed Assisted Living Service Agency.

Patients who enter our continuum of care may receive service from one or more of our programs, depending on their needs. Our staff will collaborate with you and your physician to identify your care needs and recommend resources available within VNHSC to meet those needs.
