With the changes taking place in the health care systems, patients are being discharged from hospitals and nursing homes more quickly. In today's managed care environment, home care and specialized care go hand-in-hand.

We offer specialty services with advanced practice nurses in the following areas:

In-Home Cardiac Rehabilitation
VNHSC nurses are highly trained in home care, cardiac care, and cardiac rehabilitation. The nurses are certified in advanced and/or basic life support.

IV-High Tech Home Care
Highly qualified validated nurse specialists provide a wide range of infusion therapies from antibiotics to pain management.

HIV/AIDS
This program offers a holistic approach in caring for clients with HIV/AIDS the priority being to improve the quality of life, emphasizing respect for and upholding the individual's dignity.

In-Home Mental Health
This specialty service emphasizes education, medication and management of symptom control. The goal of the program is complete return of the patient to the care of community providers of mental health.

Wound and Ostomy Care
This program focuses on the complex nursing needs of persons with serious wounds. Assistance is provided with wound care, dressing changes, ostomy bag changes, as well as psychological and educational support.

Diabetes Management
This specialty program emphasizes education about diabetes and assists patients in living a comfortable and productive life within the confines of the disease process.

Palliative Care
This program provides symptom management and pain control related to a disease process which may or may not be life threatening.
